Student Observation Hours Process
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD offers the opportunity to obtain observation hours. If you would like to fulfill your University or Alternative Certification Program observation hours with GCISD, you MUST complete the following:
Steps to Apply for Observation Hours:
1. Complete the Volunteer Background Check.
2. Complete our online Observation Form.
3. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an approval email from the HR department.
- All steps must be completed before being on campus to conduct observation hours.
- GCISD will begin processing observation requests for the 2023-2024 school year, Monday, August 7, 2023. The Observation Form will close, Friday, April 19, 2024.
- Observation on campuses will start September 5, 2023, and will end May 10, 2024.
- Late inquiries may be denied based on campus/teacher availability.
Student/Clinical Teacher Process
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD offers Student Teaching placement opportunities for college students and Clinical Teaching placement opportunities for alternative certification candidates.
Steps to Apply for Student/Clinical Teaching:
1. Complete our online Student Teaching Form.
2. Once HR receives your request they will email you a Background Check Form to complete. You will need to be fingerprinted and have a background check done through TEA.
3. Once processed, you will receive an approval email from the HR department.
- All steps must be completed before being on campus as a Student/Clinical Teacher.
- The deadline for requesting Fall 2023 Student Teaching assignments is May 26, 2023. The deadline for requesting Spring 2024 student teaching assignments is November 10, 2023.
- Please contact our office the semester before your student teaching.
- Late inquiries may be denied based on campus/teacher availability.
