
The Grapevine High School girls golf team won its third consecutive UIL Class 5A State Championship on Tuesday, winning by four strokes at the White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown, Texas.
The Lady Mustangs were led by Gabriella Tomanka who finished second individually with rounds of 71 and 73. Additionally, Anna Takahashi finished fifth with rounds of 72 and 75.
As a team, GHS trailed Frisco Lebanon Trail by one stroke after Monday’s first round, but shot a day-two best 314 on Tuesday to pull away with another state championship.
Led by head coach Bryan Humphreys, Grapevine’s five competitors included Audrey Jackson, Jillian Corey, Abby Tanner, Tomanka and Takahashi.
