GCISD Hosts Red Ribbon Week Contests
Posted on 10/09/2019

Red Ribbon Week is celebrated every year during late October, and this year, Red Ribbon Week is recognized nationally as October 23-31.  Red Ribbon Week is a substance abuse prevention campaign dedicated to the memory of Kiki Camerena, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent, killed in the line of duty.

GCISD campuses have numerous activities during this time, and the district as a whole holds two contests each year where students submit posters and public service announcements. All first place district level winners will be recognized at the November GCISD Board of Trustees meeting.  Campus principals and counselors will be notified of winners prior to the meeting.
