Daniel Jau named National Federation of State High School Association State Coach of the Year
The National Federation of State High School Association has named Daniel Jau the state Coach of the Year and the southwest sectional Coach of the Year. Jau is GCISD’s head coach for the swim, dive, and water polo teams and for the past ten years has been working with students at both Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School.
Jau has received numerous recognitions including 17 district championships, two regional championships, three regional runner-up finishes, a state runner-up finish, and a fourth-place state finish. He has been voted district Coach of the Year 16 times and regional Coach of the Year twice. Jau will receive the Coach of the Year plaque from the association at the state meet in Austin on February 17.
