Dr. Rick Westfall named lone finalist for superintendent in Keller ISD

GCISD Deputy Superintendent Dr. Rick Westfall has been named the lone finalist in the Keller ISD superintendent search. Keller Trustees approved Dr. Westfall with a 6-0 vote during a special meeting on Monday, May 8. There will now be a state-mandated 21-day waiting period before Dr. Westfall is officially named superintendent.

“I want to thank the entire GCISD community for allowing me to serve as your Deputy Superintendent for the last six years,” Dr. Westfall said. “When I look back at what we have accomplished during this time as part of LEAD 2021, I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made and the redefined educational opportunities we are providing for students.”

The search for Keller’s new superintendent began in January when current superintendent Dr. Randy Reid announced his retirement effective July 2017. Dr. Westfall is familiar with the Keller community as he served as Keller High School principal from 2008-2011.

“We are so excited for Dr. Westfall and the opportunity he has to serve as superintendent in Keller ISD,” said Dr. Robin Ryan, GCISD Superintendent. “Rick is a tremendous leader and it has been a honor to serve with him. We wish Rick the best of luck in this new chapter of his career.”
