Incumbent Jesse G. Rodríguez was elected to Place 5, Doug Noell was elected to Place 6, and Incumbent Jorge Rodríguez was elected to Place 7 on the GCISD Board of Trustees by a majority vote in the May 6, 2017, election with 100 percent of precincts reporting, according to unofficial results posted by Tarrant County Elections on Saturday night.
In the election for Place 5, Jesse Rodríguez received 2,590 votes (52.23%) while his opponent, Julie Lawrence, received 2,369 votes (47.77%). In the election for place 6, Noell was unopposed, garnering 3,586 votes. In the election for Place 7, Jorge Rodríguez was unopposed, receiving 3,607 votes.
Final results will be canvassed May 16 during a special Board meeting. During the Regular Monthly Board meeting, newly re-elected trustees Jesse Rodríguez and Jorge Rodríguez, and newly elected Doug Noell will be issued the oath of office and begin their new terms on GCISD's Board of Trustees.
