Prior to Spring Break, elementary and middle school campuses across GCISD held their geography bees, and the District would like to congratulate all of the campus winners. All of the winners can be viewed here.
At Cross Timbers Middle School, eighth-grader Benjamin Ding was one of just 100 students from across the state to qualify for the Texas state geography bee. Benjamin has competed in the state bee each year since he was in fifth grade at Bear Creek Elementary.
As an eighth-grader, this was the last year that Benjamin could compete in the state competition. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, National Geographic canceled final state and national competitions. The District would like to wish a special congratulations to Benjamin on the tremendous honor of qualifying for the state competition for four consecutive years.
