Erin Gerdes, current Heritage Elementary School assistant principal, has been named the new principal of Bransford Elementary School. Trustees approved the appointment during the July 2 Board meeting.

“Erin has spent the last 20 years in GCISD as an educator, instructional coach and assistant principal,” said GCISD Superintendent Dr. Robin Ryan. “She is a familiar face to this community and we are excited for her to have the opportunity to lead one of our elementary campuses.”

The search for a new principal for Bransford Elementary began when Dr. Jamie Halliburton announced her new role at Cross Timbers Middle School.

Growing up in Grapevine, Gerdes attended Colleyville Elementary with her father as principal. She went on to attend Colleyville Middle School and graduated from Grapevine High School. Gerdes began her career in 1999 as a special education teacher in Carroll ISD for one year before returning to GCISD.  Over the last 20 years, she has served as a teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, and parent in GCISD.

“I am overjoyed for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families at Bransford Elementary School,” Gerdes said. “I look forward to continuing to enhance learning at Bransford while promoting Arts Integration and upholding an already established high standard of excellence.”

Gerdes earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education degree from Lamar University in educational technology leadership.
