Posted on 10/23/2020

The College Board recently shared AP Scholars of 2020 information with districts, and GCISD is proud to announce that a record number of students earned AP Scholar awards in 2020. Every fall, the AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP Exams.

AP Scholar Awards come in different levels and types (see descriptions below). A total of 714 GCISD students earned awards in 2020, the highest number since GCISD began tracking the data in 2012. The 714 students included 394 who were named an AP Scholar, 101 that earned AP Scholar with Honor and 219 that earned AP Scholar with Distinction.

Additionally, 62 GCISD students also earned the prestigious National AP Scholar award, and three students earned the AP Capstone Diploma. Those students were Ashwini Vivek (CHHS), Kaili Weightman (GHS) and Aiden Wevodau (GHS).
