Mustang Panther Stadium Update (Sept. 6)

Note: A more recent update on Mustang Panther Stadium was posted on September 18

GCISD Community,

In May, I shared with you that the first three weeks of the 2018 varsity football season would be played at alternative sites after delays in construction were caused by rain and high winds.

I am excited to provide you with an update on Mustang Panther Stadium, including information on the first official home game of the season on September 28 when Colleyville Heritage plays Newman Smith for homecoming. Grapevine Mustang fans will have the opportunity to experience the new stadium at their first home game, when they play Birdville on October 5.

Although we are able to play football at the stadium, there is still some work that will need to be completed after the September 28 game. The north side of the stadium, including walkways and paths, will be completed, while the south end of the stadium will still be a work in progress. Fans will still be able to access the south side concession stand, restrooms, and seating using a 10 foot wide walking path. A six foot tall fence will block access to the areas still under construction. The south ticket booth also will be operational.

I hope that you will pardon our dust, but the most important thing for our players and our fans is that they are able to experience Friday Night Lights at their home stadium.

I look forward to seeing our respective communities September 28 and October 5 enjoying the sights and sounds of varsity football under the lights at Mustang Panther Stadium!
