The Elementary Art Showcase and Forum elementary students living in the 24th Congressional District of Texas. Students will have the opportunity to meet Congresswoman Van Duyne and be recognized for their artistic talents. Students will learn about the three branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial, and discuss how they interpret the government through their theme-based artwork.
The theme is “The Sights of U.S. Capitol Hill” and each piece of artwork must be two-dimensional and no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches. Various mediums will be accepted.
To participate in the showcase, students must complete the Student Participation and Release Form (found at link above), send in a photo or digital copy of their artwork to Rachel Garcia ([email protected]) and bring their artwork in a standing frame to an in-person event that will take place in late April or early May. The deadline to register to participate is Friday, April 16, 2021.
