Colleyville Heritage High School senior Evan Atchley capped off an undefeated season by winning the UIL 5A 152-pound State Championship, highlighting a great competition for GCISD at the State Wrestling Tournament held at the Berry Center in Cypress, Texas, last weekend.
Atchley won three matches over the state tournament weekend, including a win over Midlothian’s Felix Saunders in the state championship match. Atchley finishes his senior season with a perfect 34-0 record.
Atchley was part of a group of eight GCISD wrestlers that advanced to the state tournament with Logan Park of Grapevine High School advancing to the fifth-place match in the boy’s 145-pound bracket.
