GHS Graduation Time Changed

UPDATE: The following was sent on Friday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m.

GCISD continues to monitor the weather ahead of tonight’s graduation ceremony for the Grapevine High School Class of 2021. In conversations with the National Weather Service, there has been a slight shift in the forecast and the time that scattered showers and thunderstorms may be in the area.

We still plan to begin the graduation ceremony at 5 p.m. this evening. It is our intention to celebrate our seniors this evening, which may require that we delay the start time if needed.

In the event that we have to delay the start, we will notify families on social media, through email, Remind and on the district website. In the event that storms roll through the area during our ceremony, we will take a brief pause to seek cover and will resume when the weather has cleared.

A live stream of graduation ceremonies will be available at www.GCISD.net/2021Graduation.Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we prepare to celebrate the GHS Class of 2021.

Due to ongoing communication with the National Weather Service, and with storms predicted to roll through the area, GCISD will proactively move graduation for the Grapevine High School Class of 2021 to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 28.

In the event that GCISD is unable to perform the ceremony due to weather, it will reschedule for Saturday, May 29, at noon.

It is the District's hope and intention to be able to celebrate the Class of 2021 on Friday, May 28, but we also want to give families time to prepare in case we need to make any additional adjustments. In the event that any further adjustments are needed, GCISD will update families as soon as possible.

A live stream of graduation ceremonies will be available at www.GCISD.net/2021Graduation. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to celebrating the GHS Class of 2021.
