GHS Wrestling Hosts 9/11 Tribute
Posted on 09/10/2021

The Grapevine High School wrestling team hosted its second annual 9/11 Tribute Climb on Friday, September 10, in the visitor stands at Mustang Panther Stadium. The Mustangs started the tradition last year as a way to pay tribute to the heroes of 9/11.

In partnership with local authorities such as the Grapevine Fire Department and Grapevine Police Department, team members and first responders replicated climbing the 110 flights of stairs that first responders in New York City climbed inside the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

In addition to climbing the stairs, first responders and many members of the wrestling team also carried weighted vests or backpacks to simulate the weight carried by 9/11 first responders.
