Diggs Finalist For Librarian/Media Specialist Award

Kurstin Diggs, GCISD Digital Materials and Library Media Specialist, has been named one of just three finalists for the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) Librarian/Media Specialist of the Year Award.

Diggs is in her 20th year in education, all in GCISD. She attended GCISD schools beginning in 2nd grade and graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Library Science. Before taking her current position this school year, Diggs previously served as the librarian at Dove Elementary from 2016 to 2021. During her time in GCISD, Diggs has also served as a 1st-grade teacher and an instructional technologist.

The Librarian/Media Specialist of the Year honors a librarian or media specialist who improves their library using technology. He or she collaborates with administrators, teachers, and students to support technology integration. Finalists will be recognized on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at a private reception during the 2022 TCEA Convention & Exhibition.
