The Grapevine High School cheerleading squad made history as the Mustangs won their first UIL Spirit State Championship, taking home the 5A Division 1 title with a score of 93.60 on Friday at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The Mustangs were competing in the UIL Spirit State Championships for the fifth straight year, with their previous highest finish being last year’s second-place finish.
The Colleyville Heritage High School cheerleaders also made their fifth consecutive appearance at the state championships and they earned a sixth place finish.
