The Colleyville Middle School (CMS) Honors Band has been invited to perform at the 72 annual Midwest International Orchestra and Band Clinic and Conference, held from December 19-22, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois.
“To be selected to perform at the Midwest Clinic is an honor because it places the CMS band program among the elite in the nation,” David Zahrndt, GCISD Director of Fine Arts, said. “Our students and directors work every day in the pursuit of excellence, and an invitation to perform for the prestigious Midwest Clinic is a clear result of their day to day commitment.”
The Midwest Clinic is the largest instrumental music education conference in the world. They have showcased the finest performances by ensembles from around the globe, presentations by the foremost experts in music education and the latest music industry trends for all age and experience levels.
The CTMS Band is the only other GCISD ensemble that has previously been invited to perform at the Midwest Clinic.
The CMS Honors Band is under the direction of Lauren Jones, with assistance from Joseph Prescott.
